Administrator - Shane Dahl, NHA

Shane Dahl has over 10 years of experience working and volunteering in nursing homes. He joined Sunnyside most recently from his stint as the CEO, and Regional Administrator of a small chain of nursing homes in Spring Valley, in the San Diego area. Shane is very passionate about serving the senior population and thoroughly enjoys combining his expertise with the wonderful reputation Sunnyside has in the South Bay community. Shane comes from a family of dedicated Long Term Care Professionals having 4 brothers who also currently run Nursing Home Facilities. Shane is dedicated to providing excellent care, and maintaining outstanding compliance with State and Federal regulations. Residents and staff alike are always grateful to be welcomed by his friendly smile and warm greetings each day. Shane's open door policy and gregarious demeanor create a very friendly and warm place to be. Sunnyside is very fortunate to have Shane Dahl at the helm.

Director of Nursing - Manny Cordero, RN

Manny is a dedicated professional nurse with 25 years of nursing experience, 9 of which has been as a Director of Nursing. He joins us most recently from French Park Care Center in Orange County, a 202 bed facility with 31 sub acute beds.

Originally from the Philippines, Manny has lived in the United States since 1981 and has devoted his whole family and life to nursing… literally. Manny's wife is also a Director of Nursing and their 3 children are also licensed nurses in California. As you can imagine, spending time with his family is a top priority to Manny.

Manny's comprehensive experience is complemented by his professional and gregarious attitude. We are honored and pleased to have Manny join our team.

Medical Director - Dr. El Sayad

Dr. El Sayad, M.D. attended Lutheran Medical Center/Down State University in Brooklyn, New York. Following this he arrived in California and did his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at VA/UCI and graduated in 1988. For the last 20 years, as well as running a very successful practice, Dr. El Sayad has served the South Bay area in a variety of capacities.

Having served as the Mayor of Wilmington for several years Dr. El Sayad is very active in the Lomita and Wilmington community. His sincere dedication to the senior community is recognized and respected by many of his peers. His full-time commitment is not only in his practice and family of five, but also a comprehensive charity in California, Mexico, and abroad.

Dr. El Sayad is the president of the Saint Mary's Foundation which helps impoverished seniors in throughout Southern California and various Mexican cities. For example, Saint Mary's operates the only completely free clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, where Dr. El Sayad and his family dedicate many weekends each month to alleviating the suffering of senior citizens who would otherwise go without much needed medical attention. For his work, Dr. El Sayad has received many humanitarian awards.

We are extremely privileged and proud to have Dr. El Sayad as our Medical Director. His years of service to our residents, staff members, and the poor in our community is sincerely appreciated. He is an extremely caring and passionate human being whose dedication to helping others is inspirational.
